TUPELO – Edison Pena, one of the rescued Chilean miners and a self-described “Elvis fanatic,” visited Tupelo today for a tour of Presley attractions.
Pena’s first stop was the birthplace. After his tour there, Elvis Presley Memorial Foundation Chairman Henry Dodge asked Peña what he thought about it.
Via his interpreter, Peña said, “Very emotional. I could feel him.”
Pena also was scheduled to dine at Vanelli’s and stop by Tupelo Hardware, where Elvis got his first guitar.
