Classes resume at Tupelo Middle after gas leak

TUPELO – Students and staff at Tupelo Middle School were evacuated for about a half-hour on Tuesday morning due to a small gas leak at the school.

The leak was detected at about 9:35 a.m. Crews from Atmos Energy inspected the building and determined it was safe. Classes resumed at about 10 a.m. Tuesday is the second day of school for Tupelo students.
