CLARKSDALE — A company that makes steel welding carts and storage products is expanding its operations in Clarksdale to accommodate an increase in production.

The project is an investment of $240,000 for Saf-T-Cart and will create 20 new jobs. The company currently employs 55 workers.

Saf-T-Cart’s products have various commercial and industrial applications.

Saf-T-Cart President Jimmy Walker said this is the company’s second expansion in five years.

The Mississippi Development Authority provided funding for improvements to the county-owned building the company occupies.

Saf-T-Cart is a privately held company established in 1986.
