OXFORD — The judicial papers of the late J.P. Coleman from his years on the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals will be released March 8 during a program at the University of Mississippi.
The event will include a panel discussion of Coleman’s judicial career.
Coleman was governor of Mississippi from 1956-60. He was appointed to the 5th Circuit by President Lyndon B. Johnson in 1965. Coleman became chief judge of the court in 1979 and retired from the bench in 1984.
Coleman died in 1991.
