Coliseum Commission adopts parking policy

By NEMS Daily Journal

TUPELO – After 25 fans were issued parking tickets at the BancorpSouth Arena’s most recent Rascal Flatts concert, the Coliseum
Commission has adopted a parking policy.
The arena and Tupelo Police Department previously had an unwritten understanding that police would not ticket anyone in the arena’s parking lot during big events unless the arena requested it.
Arena director Todd Hunt told the Coliseum Commission on Monday it needed to officially adopt the previous understanding as policy.
Fans still will be expected to follow parking rules. The commission will approve the final policy at next month’s meeting.
