BELMONT – Monday’s ribbon-cutting for a manufacturing plant that is expected to bring 200-300 jobs to Belmont drew dozens of local and state officials to help the company celebrate.
Comfort Revolution CEO Michael Fux (pronounced FUKES) said he was thrilled to bring the company’s first United States manufacturing facility to Mississippi.
“We’re proud to once again label products ‘Made in America,’” Fux told the assembled well-wishers.
Fux said he first opened a plant in Mississippi in 1978, and in 2003 opened a plant for his former employer, Sleep Innovations in Baldwyn, which is still in operation.
“I knew this area had great people and a workforce that could handle cutting-edge technology,” Fux said.
The company is making a multimillion dollar investment in equipment to manufacture its bedding products, including mattresses, pillows and mattress toppers that are sold under the Sealy brand name as well as the Comfort Revolution brand name.
Tishomingo County and the Mississippi Development Authority also are significant partners in the venture.
