TUPELO – The Tupelo Coliseum Commission voted Monday to install additional safety lines along the top of the BancorpSouth Arena.
Evan Corporation from Jamestown, R.I., submitted the low bid of $81,500 for the project. Unistrut of New Berlin, Wis., submitted a bid of $139,375.
Evan Corp. will install safety cables that run parallel to beams that riggers use to prepare for shows.
“This will be something that only 12 people will ever know about,” said Todd Hunt, the arena’s executive director. “That’s the 12 people who go out on the beams.”
