PISGAH, Miss. (AP) — A burning mobile home sent a scare into motorists on Monday, but Pisgah authorities said the burn was intentional as part of the dismantling of the old structure.

The Daily Corinthian reports the Pisgah Volunteer Fire Department received a call shortly after 9 a.m. about a structure fire on the corner of U.S. Highway 45 and County Road 8200, just across the line in Prentiss County.

When firefighters arrived at the discovered it was the controlled burn of an old mobile home.

Fire Chief Gary Yancey says the trailer was under demolition for weeks.

Yancey says firefighters look at the incident as a response training session.

Personnel from the Biggersville, Rienzi and Southwest fire departments all responded to the fire.
