CORINTH — The Corinth Area Convention and Visitors Bureau will use a $49,000 grant to step up its promotion of local Civil War activities in the next year.
CACVB Director Kristy White tells the Daily Corinthian that the tourism board has already approved a number of upcoming events for the Civil War Sesquicentennial in 2011.
White says funds will be used to place more advertising in different markets to bring tourists to Corinth.
White says the CACVB plans to update its website and do some broadcast advertising.
White says the CACVB would be working with the National Park Service to get costumes for actors for a living history program at the Contraband Camp to do different programs during the year.
A new Civil War brochure is also planned.
