CORINTH – The Corinth school board on Monday accepted a grant of $1.5 million awarded to the Corinth-Alcorn-Prentiss Early Learning Collaborative by the Mississippi Department of Education.

The grant award, announced in December, is expected to benefit about 250 4-year-old children in the three county school districts plus two Corinth head starts and give private day cares.

The funding was approved by the state Legislature and covers a two-and-a-half year period.
