CORINTH – The Corinth Board of Aldermen on Tuesday voted to allow the Corinth Police Department to apply for a Violence Against Women grant of $17,953.

The grant would support a part-time violence assistance coordinator who would work with victims of violent crime, both male and female, although women would be a primary focus, said Chief David Lancaster.

The city would provide a match of $4,488, with the balance coming from federal funds administered by the Mississippi Department of Public Safety Office of Justice Programs.
