CORINTH – A suspect previously held in an Aug. 28 Corinth shooting has been re-arrested on a charge of attempted murder.
Frederick Patterson, 49, of Mitchell Street, Corinth, was arrested Aug. 29, and bond was set at $75,000. He was released, however, while awaiting surgeries for injuries he suffered during the attack, said Det. Capt. Ralph Dance.
Patterson is charged with shooting Randy Young at Young’s Pierce Street residence. Young suffered two gunshot wounds to the chest and back. However, while injured, Young also inflicted severe injuries on Patterson, who doctors said would require surgery.
Patterson has recovered sufficiently from his wounds, Dance said, and was picked up Sunday and returned to the Alcorn County Jail, where he is being held for the Mississippi Department of Corrections on probation violations.
