Corinth board approves mostly flat 2012 budget

By NEMS Daily Journal

CORINTH – The Corinth Board of Aldermen made few adjustments to its proposed fiscal year 2012 budget before adopting it during a special meeting Tuesday.
As expected, there will be no increase in ad valorem taxes, and most city agency funding will continue at last year’s levels.
Two agencies that had been slated to receive no funding for the coming fiscal year have been restored to receive city support. The CARE Garden will receive $9,000 and Verandah House will receive $9,500.
The new fiscal year begins Oct. 1, and budgets are required by state law to be adopted by Sept. 15.
