CORINTH – The 12 women vying for the title 2014 Phenomenal Woman of the Year for the Boys & Girls Club of Corinth want their supporters to know there’s still time to make a difference.

A donation to the Boys & Girls Club Corinth unit or purchasing a $15 ticket in the name of your nominee will go toward helping each candidate reach her goal, said Unit Director Christy Grice.

The candidates will be honored during Saturday’s Black Tie Gala Reception and Dinner, and candidates include a cross-section of women in the community. A Red Carpet Walk reception begins at 6 p.m. and dinner at 7 p.m. at the Crossroads Arena Convention Center.

The guest speaker is Linnette Miller of Booneville, an independent entrepreneur, former banking executive and motivational speaker.

“In my opinion she is not just a speaker, she is an orator who captures your attention, is eloquent, caring and impacts you with the power of her words,” Grice said.

In addition to naming the 2014 Phenomenal Woman of the Year, the event will include introducing 2014 Champion of Youth Award Recipient Lisa Caveness.

Phenomenal Woman candidates include:

• Amy Bonds, North Mississippi VISTA Project worker.

• Christy Burns, executive director of the Corinth Area Convention and Visitor’s Bureau.

• Deborah Cooper, regional administrator for Mississippi Action for Progress Head Start programs.

• Dr. Blakley Fowler, pediatrician at Magnolia Regional Health Center.

• Debra Gallaher, a BancorpSouth vice president.

• Veronica Goett, Home Interior designer.
