Corinth CVB executive director resigns

CORINTH – Kristy White submitted her resignation today as executive director of the Corinth Area Convention and Visitors Bureau/tourism council, citing the joint city-county board’s vote of no confidence in her board, and by extension in her as executive director.
“I will not remain in a position where the performance of the staff and board of directors is so grossly undervalued,” she said.
The joint board of Alcorn County supervisors and Corinth aldermen removed all seven members of the tourism council board during a special meeting Wednesday.
White gave two weeks’ notice, but with no board in place there is no official body to whom she can submit the resignation.
The Corinth Board of Aldermen has called a special meeting for 4 p.m. Friday at city hall to discuss appointment of new board members.
