CORINTH – The Corinth Board of Aldermen has hired a new building inspector to begin work as soon as his preliminary paperwork and drug screening are completed.
City Clerk Vickie Roach said the board acted after a special executive session Friday afternoon, and appointed Greg Tyson to the position.
Tyson was one of five finalists for the job which became available when Philip Verdung was appointed street commissioner in March.
Verdung replaced retiree Jim Bynum in the street department, but has continued to fulfill building inspector duties while candidate recruitment was under way.
Tyson previously worked as a building and home inspector, worked in new home construction and home repairs.
