CORINTH – Weekend floods that devastated individuals and businesses in Corinth had no impact on the city’s adoption of a flood plain ordinance at the regular city board meeting on Tuesday.
The revised ordinance has been in process for several months, with changes that align the ordinance language with new maps that take effect in September.
Flood plain maps were presented last summer for community review as part of a statewide map update that is due to be finalized in September.
The maps are used to determine flood risk when property owners apply for insurance through the federal flood insurance program.
