Corinth man arrested in stabbing

BOONEVILLE — A Corinth man has been arrested after being accused of stabbing a Booneville resident.

The Daily Corinthian reports that Booneville police arrested Demarkquez L. Williams, 18, on a charge of aggravated assault.

Booneville Police Chief Michael Ramey says Williams was arrested in connection with an April 22 stabbing believed to have occurred during a fight at an apartment complex.

The unidentified victim was stabbed in the back and taken for treatment to Baptist Memorial Hospital in Booneville where he was later released.

Williams was booked at the Prentiss County jail.

It was not immediately clear whether he has a lawyer.
