CORINTH — A Corinth man has been arrested on charges of possession and sale of marijuana.

The Daily Corinthian reports that Michael Charles Spears, 29, was booked Thursday with sale of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute.

Sheriff’s investigators say Spears had been under surveillance for suspicion of selling the substance.

Deputies searched his home after obtaining a warrant and say they found about 1.5 pounds of marijuana.

Spears was booked at the Alcorn County jail.

It was not immediately clear whether he has an attorney.
