Corinth man falls to his death at work

TUSCUMBIA – The Wednesday death of a Corinth man who fell 160 feet from the top of a grain silo is being investigated by the Tuscumbia, Ala., police, according to the TimesDaily.
Joe Weaver, 53, of Corinth, was manager of the Pilgrim’s Pride feed grain plant where he fell to his death. He was pronounced dead by the Colbert County, Ala., coroner about 2 p.m. Wednesday.
Weaver was not wearing a hard hat or carrying his communication radio, and no one knew he was going to the top of the grain bin, which was not his usual habit, according to the report.
A police spokesman said an autopsy has been ordered and a death investigation is under way because no one knows if Weaver “fell, jumped or was pushed.”
