Corinth postpones action on building

CORINTH – The Corinth Board of Aldermen again postponed a vote on action related to the unauthorized demolition of an old gas station at the corner of Fillmore and Foote streets that was in the Corinth Historic District.
Members of the Corinth Preservation Commission waited outside the board meeting room while a discussion of the issue took place in an hour-long executive session.
Attorney Bill Davis, who is representing the city in the matter related to the building owned by John Dodd, said although it was discussed as potential litigation, the board wants to discuss other issues with Dodd before any further action is taken.
Davis said there may be some movement on the issue by the next regular board meeting, scheduled for 5 p.m. June 18.
