CORINTH – A Corinth man is in custody following a Wednesday afternoon shooting, which police believe stemmed from a Facebook post.

Lamon West Jr., 21, of Corinth, is in police custody with an aggravated assault charge pending.

Dernard Dorsey, 28, also of Corinth, was shot in the right arm with a revolver and sustained a non-life-threatening injury.

Corinth Police Det. Heather Glass said the shooting happened at 1404 Horton Street, West’s residence, and appears to be the result of something posted on Facebook.

Police were called at 1:05 p.m. Wednesday and West was taken into custody about 20 minutes after police arrived.

Glass said she expects a bond to be set shortly after the charges are finalized.
