Corinth starts room incentive program

CORINTH – The Corinth Area Convention and Visitors Bureau is pursuing new ways to give local hotels, restaurants and meeting facilities a boost with the creation of a Meetings, Conventions and Reunions Guide.
A key component of the guide, adopted by the tourism board at its regular monthly meeting this week, is a group room incentive program.
The incentive would reimburse qualified groups $5 per room night if they book a minimum of 10 room nights in a Corinth hotel, motel or inn, said CVB Executive Director Kristy White.
Qualified groups include associations, churches, motorcoach tours, reunions, schools, sports groups, travel clubs and wedding parties, White said.
“This does not apply to corporate or business groups,” she added.
Board members Ricky Maricle, a motel manager, and Luke Doehner, an inn owner, agreed that such an incentive would be appealing to local lodging businesses.

CVB to pay
The reimbursements would be paid by the CVB out of a fund established for promotion and incentive programs. White hopes to meet soon with local innkeepers to provide them with copies of the brochure and explain the program, which is similar to programs in other areas.
In addition to details about the room incentive program the brochure includes countywide listings for lodging, hotel meeting rooms, catering services, restaurants with private dining and meeting areas, and other meeting facilities and amenities.
