CORINTH – Corinth police are asking for help in identifying the suspect in a homicide early this morning.

The victim is identified as Cleo L. Henderson, 66, of 1520 Bunch St., Corinth.

Henderson was found dead of a gunshot wound about 2:30 a.m. Sunday outside the Liberty Cab stand at 303 Taylor Street, where he worked, said detective Capt. Ralph Dance.

A co-worker for the cab company, who had previously spoken with Henderson about 1 a.m., went looking for him after being unable to reach him again by phone, Dance said.

Dance said it appears someone may have been waiting and robbed him when he exited the cab stand, took things from Henderson’s car, then fled the scene. It is unknown whether the suspect left by vehicle or on foot.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Corinth Police Department at (662) 286-3377 or Crime Stoppers of Northeast Mississippi at (800) 773-8477.
