CORINTH – Voters in today’s municipal primary will decide whether Mayor Jerry Latch keeps his job for the next four years or whether political newcomer Tommy Irwin replaces him.
The winner of today’s Democratic mayoral primary will have no opposition in the city’s general election Oct. 12.
Also to be decided in today’s primary will be the police chief’s position. Incumbent David Lancaster is being challenged by former police officer Chip Timbes.
All six seats on the Board of Aldermen will be decided in October after nominees are chosen today.
Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
