Counterfeit case arrests reported

ABERDEEN – Larry Pritchard will be held on charges he used altered $1 bills to look like $50s, U.S. District Court Magistrate Jerry Davis ordered Thursday.
A U.S. Secret Service affidavit dated Dec. 11 accused Pritchard and others, known and unknown, of passing four altered bills at the Starkville Walmart on Dec. 1.
A suspect reportedly was identified six days later from CrimeStoppers tips to the Starkville Police Department, and when interviewed, admitted passing the notes at the behest of a stranger named “Larry,” who asked him if he wanted to make a little money.
The man said he received the bills from Larry, bought a ring at the store and received change, then returned the ring to get his money back, at Larry’s order.
Pritchard was arrested Dec. 10 and made an initial appearance Wednesday before Davis.
Also arrested in Starkville were Joe Gillespie and a cashier identified as Carlton Fisher Jr.
