BOONEVILLE – Two suspects arrested Friday and charged with growing marijuana to sell have been released on $7,500 bond each.

Ryan Casey Bullard, 24, and Rachel Christine Sweitzer, 19, both of Prentiss County Road 1040, were arrested as the result of an investigation by Prentiss County Narcotics, North Mississippi Narcotics and Booneville Narcotics, said Sheriff Randy Tolar.

When authorities executed a search warrant at the C.R. 1040 residence, they discovered an elaborate hydroponic marijuana growing system inside, the sheriff said.

Both suspects were charged with manufacture of a controlled substance-marijuana, he said, and a 2008 Nissan Versa was seized during the operation.

The case remains under investigation.

Too bad they got caught. They were just trying to make some money in this pissed-poor State. Make cannabis legal and they, including the rest of unemployed Mississippians, can have legal jobs without prosecution!

Folks just moving a bit of cannabis and helping to fulfill an existing demand. What a waste of effort, money and time by law enforcement – all those combined years of talent & rooms full of cop-toys — and the best they can do is bust a grow room?
    Reform our marijuana laws!

Released for $750 each, as long as they show up in court. They lose a 6 year old car. For growing a weed. Just putting things in perspective.
