Couple charged with prescription forgery

OXFORD – Officers from the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics and Lafayette County Metro Narcotics Unit arrested an Oxford couple and seized 63 allegedly forged prescriptions.
MBN Director Marshall Fisher said Lacinda Payton, 38, of 121 Thacker Loop, is charged with one count of prescription forgery and faces the possibility of indictment on at least 60 additional counts. Payton, who is not a nurse, was arrested at her job at a clinic in Oxford.
Agents also arrested Payton’s boyfriend, Derrick Redmon, 24, at the couple’s residence. He is charged with one count of prescription forgery and could face three or more additional counts.
Payton and Redmon were transported to the Lafayette County Jail. Bond was set at $2,500 each.
