Court upholds custody change

JACKSON – A change in child custody won approval from the Mississippi Supreme Court on last week.
In a unanimous decision, justices agreed with Chancellor Ken Burns when he granted legal custody for his teenage son to John R. “Rusty” White of Tishomingo County.
White’s ex-wife, Vicki, appealed Burns’ 2008 decision, saying the court lacked jurisdiction because she lives in Texas and other reasons.
The court said Thursday that circumstances had changed since she won physical custody of their three children in a 1998 divorce, and that the youth’s circumstances were improved with his father.
