Crime Stoppers of Northeast Mississippi needs help in locating

Crime Stoppers of Northeast Mississippi needs help in locating a man who escaped two weeks ago from the Tupelo City Jail.

Robert Lee Owens, 30, of the Haven Acres area was last seen running away from the Tupelo City Jail on Thursday, April 4, about 5 p.m. Officials believe Owens may have climbed over a holding cell located behind the jailer’s office. Owens had been brought to the jail to be questioned by the detectives unit in connection with an undisclosed offense.

At the time of his escape, Owens did not have on shoes or a shirt. He did have on black pants.

Owens is a black male who stands about 6 feet 2 inches tall. He is missing several front teeth.

Crime Stoppers is also asking for help in locating those responsible for dumping appliances, furniture and trash on Mitchell Road in Tupelo. A person can be charged up to $250 for illegal dumping.
