Crosstown fire ruled an electrical problem

TUPELO – The fire that consumed much of a Crosstown shopping center Saturday has been ruled an accidental electrical fire.
Tupelo Fire Investigator Jason Cross said the fire started in the computer server in the Crosstown Pawn and Jewelry store near the northern end of the South Gloster Street shopping center. The fire spread to Money Now Title Loans to the north and Money Now Check Advance to the south, which Cross said were separated by a thin wall.
Lucky 7 Tattoo, the southernmost business in the strip, was mostly spared by the fire and sustained only water and smoke damage.
Fire trucks were called out at 4:05 p.m. Saturday when smoke was reported billowing out of the Money Now Title Loans storefront.
