A 28-year-old Tupelo woman was hospitalized after being hit by a motor vehicle while riding a bicycle outside the city Sunday afternoon.
Ana Banks, 28, is being treated at North Mississippi Medical Center.
Lee County Sheriff Jim Johnson said her injuries appeared at the scene of the accident to include possible broken bones.
Johnson said it appears a vehicle was traveling south on County Road 183 around 5 p.m. Sunday when the driver turned onto County Road 1740 and, upon turning, the driver of the car struck the cyclist.
Banks was on County Road 1740, getting ready to turn on to County Road 183, according to Johnson.
The name of the driver has not been released. Johnson said no charges have been filed but may be in the future at the discretion of the cyclist.
