Davis pleads guilty to depraved heart murder

ABERDEEN – Tony William Davis, 48, of Maben, pleaded guilty in Monroe County Circuit Court on Monday to a charge of depraved heart murder.

Davis was a suspect in the February 19, 2002 murder of Judith Jones, a resident of the Athens community. Davis was sentenced by Circuit Court Judge Jim Roberts to 40 years with 15 years suspended and 25 years to serve consecutively with the nine years he received from an aggravated assault charge in Oktibehha County.

Davis is currently being housed at Monroe County Detention Center.
