Davis Wade Stadium expansion planned at Mississippi State

By The Associated Press

STARKVILLE — The state College Board has approved a plan by Mississippi State University to borrow $82 million to finance an expansion of Davis Wade Stadium.

The Starkville Daily News reports that the school plans an addition to the north end zone as well as improvements to the west concourse of the 98-year-old stadium. The additions would increase capacity by roughly 6,000. The area would also include box seating and suites.

Improvements to the west concourse will consist of the addition to the architectural façade, a new service and maintenance level, a new vertical circulation, renovated restrooms and concession facilities.

MSU Director of Athletics Scott Stricklin says the expansion project is expected to break ground following the conclusion of the 2012 regular football season.
