CORINTH – About 20 employees in the Shiloh Road office of Magnolia Regional Health Center’s financial services office were shocked Tuesday morning by five deer bursting through the front door of the office.

The Daily Corinthian reports no one was hurt and the animals did not cause any major damage – including no broken glass – when the three does, a buck and a fawn entered the offices.

One employee had noticed the deer coming out of the woods and crossing the busy street, and she said they ran full speed into the office.

Several of them ran to the back of the office past employee desks and cubicles, leaving a chaotic scene in their wake, according to several of the employees.

Calls to 911 reported shots fired, but it was only the noise the deer created as they rushed through, with employees screaming and hiding under their desks, the report said.

Extension County Director Patrick Poindexter said it’s not uncommon for deer to be seen in urban communities, and they sometimes become disoriented.

Corinth police officers were able to drive the deer out of the building.
