CLEVELAND — Delta State University has signed an agreement that guarantees graduates from its commercial aviation program an interview with ExpressJet Airlines.
Julie Speakes, chairwoman of DSU’s Department of Commercial Aviation, says it is an opportunity for graduates who complete the instructor standardization course to transition to the regional carrier.
Speakes says in a news release that since ExpressJet anticipates periodic needs for hiring pilots, the agreement with Delta State is mutually beneficial.
Speakes says she plans to hold a meeting this fall with students and ExpressJet officials.
Delta State offers programs for a bachelor’s and master’s degree in commercial aviation. Students have training access to a fleet of over 20 aircraft.
