Delta State, West Alabama facing in GSC clash tonight

The Delta State Statesmen will be battling for the Gulf South Conference lead today when they host the West Alabama Tigers at 7 p.m.
Both Delta State (3-1, 2-0) and West Alabama (3-1, 1-0) are also ranked in multiple polls. In the D2football.com Poll, Delta State is No. 14 and West Alabama is No. 19; while in the American Football Coaches’ Association Division II Poll, Delta State is No. 19 while West Alabama is No. 15.
West Alabama comes into the contest as the top ranked offense in the conference, averaging 498.5 yards per game. The Tigers broke a six-game losing streak to the Statesmen last season with a 34-14 victory.
Delta State comes into the contest off a 41-37 victory over Henderson State Saturday. In the victory, the Statesmen had 522 yards of total offense, with runningback Trevar Deed totaling 111 yards on the ground with three touchdowns.
Besides Delta State and West Alabama, No. 3 North Alabama (4-0, 1-0) is undefeated in conference play, and is hosting Arkansas Tech (2-2, 1-1) Saturday.
