Demonstrators protest alleged corrupt Aberdeen government

A demonstration was held in downtown Aberdeen Tuesday evening, because, some folks said, “an innocent man is being framed.”

Ricky Bowen, pastor of First Pentecostal Church in Aberdeen, was the spokesperson for the group. A member of his congregation, Brandon Scott, who is also an employee of the Aberdeen Electric Department, was arrested the on Monday.

Bowen said Scott and another employee had taken a deposit to the bank and found that it was short, so returned to the electric department, where the remainder of the money was found, but Scott was subsequently arrested that evening after being called back to the office.
