BALDWYN – Fire and police officials have few details to share about Sunday morning’s fire which wrecked downtown’s Bushwhacker Sports Bar.

Today, the blue metal building stands silent and empty, gutted by a blaze one nearby business’ employee said she heard began in the bar’s office about 3 a.m. when no one was in the place.

Baldwyn straddles the line between wet Lee and dry Prentiss counties.

Bushwhacker sits on the Lee County side of Main Street.

Owner Steve Floyd reportedly was out of town at a biker event when the fire broke out and had little to say about the destruction.

Police Chief Troy Agnew had not returned Daily Journal calls for details by late Monday.

The Lee County Sheriff’s Office also is involved with the investigation.

Little information also was available from the State Fire Marshal’s Office.
