Dirt to be replaced at Alcorn County jail project site

CORINTH – Alcorn County supervisors have been assured that dirt removed without authorization from the jail construction site on South Harper Road will be replaced by the responsible subcontractor.
During the fall, about 5,000 cubic yards of dirt was taken for use by private individuals, said Board of Supervisors President Gary Ross.
The value of the dirt would be between $30,000 and $40,000, but Ross said the subcontractor – Mamp&H Construction of Hernando – will replace the dirt, which is the board’s main concern.
