TUPELO – Looking for Northeast Mississippi news from the Daily Journal? There’s an app for that. Several of them in fact.
The app has arrived just in time for the Christmas holiday season. It’s another great way to get Daily Journal content anytime, anywhere. The free app is available for iPhone, iPad, Blackberry and Android users.
Don’t have a smartphone? That’s OK too. You can visit the new mobile site on any Internet-enabled phone at The mobile site features a basic and advanced view that lets you match the site to your phone’s capabilities.
“We’re glad to offer our customers the information they want from in an environment specifically designed for their mobile device or tablet,” Journal Interactive Director Michael Duran said. “We hope they will visit their phone’s App Store, download our app, and get in the know today. The app also provides daily classified listings, weather forecasts and radar, staff blogs, TV and movie listings, push notifications and more.
Users can also follow the Daily Journal’s Twitter account or Facebook post in one place. In addition to our own social pages, iPad users will have the ability to log in to their own Facebook/Twitter accounts to get their “social news” in the same app. And users can send us photos, videos or stories directly from the app with one click.
iPhone and iPad users can sign up for breaking news notifications that will push top stories to their phone, and let them be the first to know. It’s a great way to keep up with what’s happening throughout the day. This feature also will be available on Android devices the first quarter of next year.
