OXFORD – Tourism and emergency management officials said Thursday morning that activities connected to Oxford’s annual Double Decker Arts Festival will be held as scheduled.
“After meeting this morning with Oxford’s Emergency Management Director Jimmy Allgood, the Oxford CVB and Chamber have made the decision to proceed with plans for the weekend,” Tourism Director Mary-Kathryn Herrington said in a prepared statement. “Although there is a chance of scattered rain in the forecast, we will not be under a severe weather warning on Saturday. Therefore, at this time the decision has been made to proceed with plans for the Double Decker Arts Festival Presented by C Spire Wireless and Spring Run as scheduled.”
Oxford Emergency Management Director Jimmy Allgood said officials will continue to monitor the weather throughout the event, and updates or changes will be posted on www.doubledeckerfestival.com and www.doubledeckerspringrun.com as well as on social media and AM 1630.
