TUPELO – The Downtown Curb Market has opened at 208 N. Spring St.
The store is by the alley leading to the Stables. It’s in the space previously occupied by Salon John Paul.
The store opened Tuesday and doesn’t have a sign yet.
Jack Derreberry, founder of Jacked magazine, owns the store. Heather Deloach, a court reporter, said the two of them opened the store because they wanted a place to get a Coke, a candy bar or cigarettes without having to drive out of downtown.
The store sells bottled and canned drinks, crackers, candy, muffins, fruit, coffee, chips, Chapstick and lighters.
Deloach said the store has applied for a beer and cigarette permit. She also hopes to sell pre-made sandwiches, homemade cake, newspapers and fresh flowers.
“I’d like for people to come in, get their paper, coffee and a muffin,” she said.
The store is open Monday through Saturday. Hours are Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 8 a.m. to midnight.
The phone number is (662) 706-2572.
