CLEVELAND — Delta State University has received a $924,000 federal grant to provide additional training for middle school math teachers, primarily in the Mississippi Delta.
The three-year Delta Math Science Partnership Initiative grant came from the U.S. Department of Education.
Leslie Griffin, dean of DSU’s College of Education and Human Sciences, says a team of math and science educators will develop the curriculum for the project.
Griffin says Delta area middle school mathematics teachers may attend either of two initial institutes planned for the week of June 3-14 or June 17-28.
