GREENVILLE – Danny Joseph Hipp of Oxford won’t be hunting ducks or anything else for a while.
Monday, he pleaded guilty to one federal count of illegally taking, killing or possessing migratory birds on Jan. 13.
Magistrate David Sanders ordered him to pay a $5,010 fine and not hunt “animals of any kind” during his 12-month probation.
In return for his plea, eight other similar charges against Hipp were dropped.
Hipp, 34, is one of seven Oxford area men indicted on multiple counts that they killed more ducks than allowed.
A Jan. 24 trial date is set for the others in Greenville.
