Dutschke files for extention

OXFORD – James Everett Dutschke is requesting an additional 14 days before having to file a response to the government’s pre-sentencing report.

The request is so Dutschke, 42, and his counsel can research their response and file any objections.

Dutschke pleaded guilty in January to charges of making ricin and mailing poisoned letters to the president and two other public officials.

A sentencing date has not yet been set for his federal charges. Sentencing for his state charges of fondling a minor should follow the federal sentencing.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office has recommended Dutschke serve 25 years in federal prison for the ricin plot
