Early-morning shooting leaves Columbus man dead

COLUMBUS, Miss. (AP) — Columbus police are investigation a Tuesday shooting that left a 32-year-old man dead.

Police spokeswoman Officer Terrie Songer says Edmund Demond Mosley has returned from getting speakers out of his apartment when a man walked up, said something and shot Mosley twice.

Lowndes County Coroner Greg Merchant says Mosley was pronounced dead at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle shortly after 2 a.m.

Songer says the case is still under investigating.
