Ecru considers comprehensive plan

ECRU – In an effort to better prepare for future growth and development of Ecru, aldermen are exploring the possibility of developing and implementing a comprehensive plan.
Randy Kelley and John Byers of Three Rivers Planning and Development recently explained to the board what a comprehensive plan is and how one would affect the town.
The process of hiring a certified planner and implementing a comprehensive plan would cost about $50,000. If grant money becomes available, that amount could be reduced by half.
A researcher from Mississippi State University Stennis Institute will consult with the board about developing a comprehensive plan for free at the January board meeting.
