Election scheduled to fill resigning alderman’s seat in Farmington

FARMINGTON – A special election has been set for April 29 to replace Henry S. “Hank” Barrett, who resigned after 11 years as alderman.
The board set the special election during a March 16 meeting after accepting Barrett’s resignation. The qualifying deadline is April 9.
Barrett, who served as vice mayor, said he thought it was time to give someone else a chance.
Alderman Lowell Gann was appointed to the vice mayor position.
