TUPELO – A total of $60,000 was raised during this year’s Empty Bowls Luncheon benefiting The Salvation Army’s food program.
The Feb. 29 luncheon sponsored by The Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary bettered last year’s amount by $10,000, according to Empty Bowls Chairwoman Karla Joblin.
A rise in corporate sponsorships, plus the addition of a fashion show and kitchen boutique, during the luncheon contributed to the increase, Joblin said.
